The Magnolia Tree – 22nd May

The Magnolia Tree

By Michael Gray Griffith

A new Australian thriller with a twist…

Saturday 22nd May 2021 7.30pm

Three siblings have come together to choose a nursing home for their mother, who has advanced Alzheimer’s, but instead Jack, for unclear reasons, will attempt to talk his sisters into letting her go, tonight. Will his sisters’ principles hold up, or will the decades of poverty ahead of them force them to re-evaluate the morality their mother taught them?

The play has a deliciously dangerous twist that you will be talking about for days.

So the real question is, how robust is your morality?

Starring Tottie Goldsmith in the role of Vicky, Rohana Hayes, one of the Co-founders of The Wolves, will play the other sister Debbie, and Ezra Bix who is starring in the upcoming Netflix show Clickbait, will play the controversial Jack.

The Magnolia Tree is presented by The Wolves Theatre Company, a group of artists determined to show that mature creatives can be original, challenging and pertinent. Their focus is to write and produce bold, contemporary pieces aimed predominantly at the 45 plus demographic.

‘In a lifetime of going to see theatre I have never been as
emotionally involved in a play as I have in this one.’
John Flaus

‘Playwright Michael Griffith has written a striking character-driven play
filled with family secrets and fractured relationships,
presenting them with an impossible bind… A must see.’
Simi West (4/5 stars)
