2020 Arts Culture Grants
King Valley Arts (KVA) is proud to offer small grants to enrich the King Valley arts culture.
King Valley Arts is the organising group behind the King Valley Art Show which is held annually on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. Previously known as King Valley Art Show, in 2018 we became King Valley Arts to fulfil a long-held ambition of the group and to better reflect our expanded activities. These include live shows under King Valley Arts Presents, annual donation to the King Valley School Cluster for art-based experiences, funding a subscription for Art Monthly, Artlink and Artist Profile magazines at Wangaratta Library and these Arts Culture Grants (offered since 2014).
The Art Show remains our main focus and continues to be highly successful, with artists exhibiting from across the state and from interstate. Sponsors, mainly local businesses or people from the local community, provide prize money.
Applications for KVA Arts Culture Grants are now open and close on Monday 23rd December 2019. Applicants will be notified of the result of their application by the Friday 15 February 2020. Activities must be completed within 12 months of a successful application.
The purposes of the Arts Culture Grants are to:
- benefit the King Valley community (King Valley Wine region),
- bring arts to the King Valley community,
- engage local people in cultural activities,
- provide opportunity for community members to undertake cultural and art activities in the King Valley.
Grants may be used for a variety of purposes such as (but not limited to) the running of workshops, cultural events, arts activities, venue or equipment hire, engaging speakers, or supporting local artists in their endeavours.
Applications must demonstrate how the event or project aligns with the purposes of the grant.
Closing Date Monday 23rd December 2019
